OPPORTUNITY: This opportunity is for a Business Development Specialist within the Chemical Specialties Division of HL Blachford Ltd. The challenge for the successful candidate is to learn the stearate business, particularly in the areas of rubber and plastics and to operate in a Sales & Marketing role to both support existing business and to also develop new business. The preferred location for the candidate would be in or near one of the key market areas in North America including Mid-West (OH, IN, IL), South East (NC, SC, GA, TN) or Southern Ontario (Mississauga).
Product Management (creating & implementing winning business plans, developing compelling sales literature and sales presentations)
Creating and meeting sales budgets/forecasts
Identifying profitable opportunities and championing new product developments to capitalize on those opportunities
Developing new customers and new markets
Overnight travel up of up to 1-2 weeks/month within North America
POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-Secondary Technical Degree (STEM)
5-10 years technical sales/marketing experience
Experience in one or more of Blachford’s main markets preferred (Rubber, PVC, Plastics, Tire, Grease, Powdered Metal)
Outstanding Sales Instinct
