Employ technical skills in screening and selecting pigments and evaluating their color & performance capability in a variety of paint systems.
Network with global business, marketing, manufacturing, and process technology personnel and participate in working teams of new product developments.
Participate in or lead projects effectively. Use influence across multiple groups in use and leveraging of in-house and new technology. Develop and deliver projects that meet the needs of R&D, Process Technology, Business and Customer requirements.
Network with external resources at customers, suppliers, professional societies and academia to gather information and identify new pigments and color trends.
Specific Technical Requirements:
BS, MS or PhD degree in Science/Engineering with 5+ year industry experience in pigments, dispersions and color.
Industry-recognized pigment and color space knowledge.
Coatings experience strongly desired.
Knowledge of product design and formulation.
Demonstrated ability to perform efficient experiments to identify issues, develop relationships and validate results using process/product variables in relation to properties and color responses, and to interpret, analyze and apply numerical color measurements.
Team & Organization
Ability to work with cross-function teams as expert resource, developer or leader as needed.
Direct Reports: Assigns work to and manages performance of technicians.
Effective project management and execution skills.
7+ years’ experience of progressive work experience in high volume, global organization
Experience implementing best practices and improvements.
Ability to work and influence collaboratively and effectively within a global and diverse population.
