RESPONSIBILITIES: *Manage and be an integral member of cross functional teams in Prepared Foods. Work closely with customer, Product Managers and sales team to develop relationships, products and appropriate technical documentation to meet or exceed expectations. *Provide focus to individual team members, report results and risks to management, and respond to team needs *Primary focus on plant yields, ingredient usage/waste and consumer complaints *Support management of departmental policies and protocols. *Establish, manage and meet measurable timetables for all team members *Represent departmental and company interests in all internal and external communications and presentations with customers *Facilitate the coordination and completion of all inter-and intra-departmental inquiries on time *Execute analytical techniques to extend scientific theories in innovative research projects *Utilize knowledge of scientific research principles, practices and protocols in research projects *Assist in developing yearly operating budget required to execute an annual R&D plan *Develop, monitor and communicate performance metrics to ensure appropriate alignment and executive awareness. *Be knowledgeable on current market trends through participation in food shows, sales meeting, technical presentations, reviewing periodicals, and partnerships with suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS: *BS in Meat/Food Science or related field plus a minimum of 7years relevant work experience highly desirable *MS in Meat /Food Science or related field plus a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience highly desirable *Familiarity with PLM and RD modules in SAP highly desired *Track record of successfully bringing new products to market and cost optimization *Protein experience in Product Development with marination and coating systems highly preferred. *Proven project management, supervision and possesses outstanding presentation & communication skills. *Travel up to 25-35% of the time *Bilingual in English/Spanish highly desired *Supervisory experience highly desired
