We are seeking candidates with a degree in Optical Science or similar to work on a variety of projects in our engineering group. Projects include: - design of mirror systems and other infrared systems - metrology - coatings - support manufacturing - polishing and fabrication - discuss ideas with customers - evaluate optical layouts - work with mechanical engineers on designs of opto-mechanical systems - troubleshooting problems and explaining concepts - IR material applications and evaluation - optical breadboarding - supporting sales and marketing - working with suppliers
The sucessful candidate will:
- know multiple optical design software suites - be able to take on many tasks - have mechanical aptitutde - work well with customers - explain concepts internally - understand and apply common optics concepts - be capable of learning analytical chemistry concepts
This position will provide exposure to many systems including: - IR and visible microscopy - Zygo and asphere metrology - many FTIR and UV/Vis spectrometers - CNC polishing machines - diamond turning machines - IAD ebeam coating machines - optical design software - IR detector technology - an opportunity to learn chemistry applications - knowledge of machining desirable - ISO and quality control systems - a wide variety of industries
