The School of Music is seeking to hire a Scenic Artist who will paint scenery elements for productions as directed by Paint Charge and/or Paint Shop Supervisor. Applicants should be high school graduates with relevant experience, preferably an Associate's degree with two or more years relevant experience, including but not limited to work in a professional theater scene shop. We are looking for someone who has a solid grounding in painting techniques and processes, knowledge of paint materials, surface treatments and tool handling. Position will require to move pieces weighing up to 50 lbs and will have exposure to intermittent loud noise, paint/application material vapors or fumes.
This position is scheduled to work 10 hours per week and is expected to end on 2/1/2019.
High School/GED required. Associate's degree preferred
1-3 years relevant work experience
