Regional Field Technical Service Manager (1804334) – Kentucky
Where the Chemistry Happens
As a member of the Field Technical Service Leadership Team, you will be accountable to lead and develop/enact the service strategy for the teams that service the sales of BASF products and services in North America to its Transplants customers. In this role, you will direct the efforts of BASF personnel to support the use of products in customer's applications and new product/application development, as well as ensure the organizational depth of BASF´s ECO Technical Service team by co-designing, implementing, and management of knowledge management tools and best practice sharing across the organization. You will work closely with Technical, Manufacturing, Logistics and Quality to ensure that customer needs are met, and with the corresponding ECO/B Account Managers to coordinate new plant launches, new product launches (new color or technology), launches of modified products or solutions to customer problems that require Engineering approval. In addition, the role serves as communication and coordination contact point toward the respective global Technical Service organizations (Global Key Accounts).
The position navigates a complex value chain with a wide scope of activities including customer satisfaction, excellence initiatives, and hiring / developing, / mentoring direct reports. You must ensure business initiatives, policies and procedures are communicated effectively to all direct reports and fully implemented.
As the automotive market continues to grow in North America, you will lead change across a team of technical service focused employees in an ambiguous forward-looking role that is critical to the long-term success of the business.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational background in business management, science, or engineering and your professional experience in paint application in an industrial environment , you will ensure BASF products and services are set up best to suit customer needs / requirements or initiate and lead projects to improve the situation, maintaining focus on profitability.
Successfully engaging inside the organization, you will interface with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D and other internal groups to ensure buy-in is gained and individuals not under direct control execute against defined plans .
Your robust communication skills will be a valued asset as you communicate and escalate Management of Change situations at customer plants that affect BASF´s business position and act as the communication link with Global Key Account Management / Sales organizations, including leading strategic and best practice sharing projects.
Your relationship building experience will be critical as you will develop and maintain excellent customer relationships on an OEM Manufacturing plant level and escalation level for customer complaints.
Demonstrating your strong business acumen, you will support customer bid scenarios and ensure high quality view on BASF, including global bid scenarios.
Utilizing your strong and proven skills in problem resolution and conflict management, you will provide input regarding claim management (investigation/analysis) and problem resolution. Additionally, you will identify and resolve conflicts within BASF and in critical situations with customers.
As a role model, you will drive best practice sharing within the North American organization and focus on training and development of the group.
