Painter/Craftsman (full-time position)
Performs work requiring specialized skills of painting, and is responsible for interior and exterior painting in and around La Amistad Behavioral Health Services (LABHS) facilities, as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations. This position assists with housekeeping department tasks when needed to cover vacations, etc. Ensures adherence to quality expectations and standards of LABHS and follows all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
Essential Job Duties:
Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
Removes old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
Covers surfaces with appropriate material for protections during painting and posts appropriate paint signs.
Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials.
Uses ladders as necessary in manner consistent with safety codes.
Responds to maintenance request calls when directed to do so by supervisor.
Uses tools, equipment, materials and chemicals safely and efficiently according to manufacturer's instructions.
Communicates status of job assignments and maintenance requests to supervisor.
Coordinates with supervisor in order to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish
Assists with some housekeeping duties to cover vacations, etc. as needed
