Laboratory Technician - 2002524 - Charlotte, NC
Where the Chemistry Happens...
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the Formulation Additives (ED2) business unit as part of our Charlotte, NC site.
The Laboratory Technician will complete hands-on application work under direction of laboratory staff on projects for existing and new products entering the commercialization phase to support growth with our customers. This position is part of the Application Laboratory team under the Technical Service Manager for Formulation Additives.
Qualifications - NOTE: Not all positions are eligible for cross-regional relocation/work authorization. Cross regional is defined as movement between countries (e.g. Canada to U.S.).
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
Conducts under direction technical comparison of BASF products vs. competitive products in industry specific application tests (proactive to determine value proposition and reactive in case of customer request). Performs technical application tests of products for troubleshooting to derive product recommendations and/or formulation recommendations by using multiple product lines of the portfolio and for support of growth opportunities.
Leveraging your Associates or Bachelor degree along with 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and industrial experience.
Experience in Construction coatings formulation, including additives use and knowledge; and application testing experience preferred.
Supports Chemists and Technical Specialists in completing laboratory projects for customers.
Utilizing strong laboratory skills and experience in application and/or formulation of related technology. Using strong verbal and written communication skills the ability to work effectively in a team environment and also on individual efforts as well as under minimal supervision.
Complaint management (production &/or customer): Does technical testing and assessment of individual products via application testing and other analysis. Supports R&D with application testing of new products and formulation support especially for products entering Commercialization phase. Works in compliance with EH&S and ISO standards [minimum expectation].
